Sadly, I'm not finding much in the records that shows anything we have is correct.  The info linked to Lydia is well documented to be a different Lydia.  Wrong info again.

Hoosick Historical Society sent the Sweet File  to me on Nov 16, 2020.  It incudes Amos Jr, , husband of Mercy Carpenter, and his father Amos Sr.  It also includes Amos, son of David.  It does not include any possible ancestor for us.

112.  Amos Sweet (Sr), (SR.) 1730-19 Jan 1793.  Amos is the son of John Sweet and Lydia Whaley.  John descends from Richard, John, John, Robert, and John).  Amos info is included directly below.

183.  Amos Sweet, born 1755, son of David Sweet and Mercy Spencer.  David descends from Benjamin, Henry, John, John, Robert, John.  This makes Amos Jr (Mercy's) and Amos (of David) 3rd cousins.  No issue included but I found them in a school record which are listed as Rufus, Mary, David, Amos Jr., and George.

This record proves they are 3rd cousins, but does not list any other Amos' in this record.

112.  Amos Sweet (John, Richard, John, John, Robert, John) was born in 1730.  He died on 19 Jan 1793 in Stephtown, Rensselaer Co., New York.  This Amos (I refer to him as Sr.) married Elizabeth Straight....  This record shows that this Amos (Sr.) was the one that built a sawmill (see note on next paragraph) in Center Berlin in 1780.  He died locally and his family moved to Canada.

******30 July 2022 on FamilySearch Family Tree, Betty Hamilton shows that he owned a gristmill and was a farmer (not a blacksmith)
